The Youth Guidance Mentoring and Activities Program was founded in 1973 to serve the children of the community. It is funded by Indian River County and United Way.
Monies for the program's activities are obtained through fundraisers, donations from individuals, service clubs, organizations, churches, foundations and businesses. By satisfying a child's most basic needs such as attention, affection, praise, recognition, and status, volunteers hope to raise the child's self-esteem. Children are referred to us from parents, schools, agencies, or citizens. Parents and children must be willing to cooperate. Youth Guidance is a mentoring program, therefore all activities that we provide for our unmatched kids

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
We have over 500 children waiting for mentors. If you are unmatched and would consider mentoring a child for a couple of hours per week, or if any of your friends may be interested, please have them call Barbara to discuss the exciting opportunities to make the difference in the life of a child in need. If you have a business or church group Barbara could make a presentation to, call us! (772) 770-5040
